About

This website is a local government project created by the Local History Department of the former Leichhardt Council in conjunction with local history groups, the Heritage Group of Leichhardt District (HGOLD) and the Balmain Association. It is now administered by the Community History team of Inner West Council (IWC) Libraries.

We are grateful to the National Archives of Australia for providing access to the service dossiers, including enlistment attestation papers, of Inner West enlistments. We are endeavouring to make this site a useful resource for local schools and researchers for their assignments, research projects and commemorations related to World War One.

The site contains links to the Australian War Memorial and UNSW AIF Project database and individual information sheets on enlistments from the IWC Local Government Area.

We would greatly appreciate any additional information on members of the Inner West 15000 which ancestors or other researchers can provide.
