A grave marker for 2396 Trooper (Tpr) Frederick William Stone and 1502 Sergeant (Sgt) James Gordon Lawson both members of 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment at the Damascus British War Cemetery. Tpr Stone, a builder of Wentworth Falls, NSW, enlisted on 16 November 1915 and embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Palmero on 18 April 1916. He was killed in action on 30 March 1918 in Syria aged 25 years. Sgt Lawson, a coppersmith of Balmain, NSW, enlisted on 15 September 1915 and embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Euripides on 2 November 1915. He was killed in action on 30 March 1918 in Syria aged 22 years
